HOT THRILLING RELEASE!

The immortality game
by Ted Cross

This thrilling read is going to be available for download on Amazon US and UK today (links below!) and you wouldn’t want to miss it!

BOOK DESCRIPTION
Moscow, 2138. With the world only beginning to recover from the complete societal collapse of the late 21st Century, Zoya scrapes by prepping corpses for funerals and dreams of saving enough money to have a child. When her brother forces her to bring him a mysterious package, she witnesses his murder and finds herself on the run from ruthless mobsters. Frantically trying to stay alive and save her loved ones, Zoya opens the package and discovers two unusual data cards, one that allows her to fight back against the mafia and another which may hold the key to everlasting life.

MY REVIEW
Ted Cross’s The Immortality Game tells about a girl named Zoya who gets a mysterious package from her brother not long before she finds him dead, and who then has to flee for her life from the mobsters that killed her brother.
There is also Marcus who leaves Phoenix, Arizona for Moscow in search of that same package as it might help his dead father Javier Saenz (who only exists in the digital world) get a new body.
Set in Moscow of the year 2138, which is far from a safe place, The Immortality Game makes a riveting technothriller where there’s lots of action, tension and suspense. Realistic and gritty, it’s a perfect read for lovers of sci-fi and cyberpunk.
It would make a great movie, in my opinion. Can’t wait to read Ted Cross’s future releases.

FIREDRAGON VS. THE ENCHANTERS!

The Firedragon (Flynn Nightsider)
by Mary Fan

Aurelia Sun, a.k.a. the Firedragon, is a Norm, a non-magical person, and Norms—as opposed to Enchanters—are treated as being inferior. To prove all Enchanters wrong, Aurelia enters a dangerous competition where the contestants face fearsome monsters: specters, manticores, spearfiends and what not. As soon as the Challenge starts, Aurelia realizes that all is not as it appears. And to discover the truth, she will have to face the most dangerous monster in the competition that may actually be stronger than her.
The Firedragon (Flynn Nightsider) is around 80 to 90 pages long, but it’s a story so thrilling I read it in one day. Just couldn’t put it down.  At 99 cents it’s a real bargain.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Almost a hundred years ago, the Enchanters defeated the Lord of the Underworld in one of the most fearsome wars the world had ever seen. The public thinks that this victory means the people are safe. But they’re wrong. The supernatural beasts the Lord unleashed remain on the earth, multiplying and ravaging what’s left of civilization. As long as these monsters exist, mankind will be in danger. And though the government, ruled by the magic-wielding Enchanters, seeks to protect their people, they are too few in number. They need the Defenders – a special class of non-magical humans – to fight the monsters. The Defenders are an elite force, and mankind’s only hope against the horrors that live beyond their gates.

Fourteen-year-old Aurelia “the Firedragon” Sun has been training since she could walk to become a Defender, and her extraordinary combat skills have earned the attention of the powerful government. In fact, she’s been tapped to represent her nation in an international monster-fighting competition, which pits champions from across the globe against creatures of the Underworld in a violent spectacle. If she wins, she will become a full-fledged member of the Defender force.

But as Aurelia moves deeper into the competition, she realizes that all is not as it appears. There’s something sinister behind the competition, something that could change the way she sees everything … and the Enchanters, it seems, are not the heroes she thought. Aurelia begins to ask questions. But before she can discover the truth, she is pitted against the most dangerous monster in the competition – one that will take her life if it can.

NOVAFORGE by Scott J. Toney

NovaForge description
Solaris. A planet like any other, rife with wars, science and love. But at the peak of its civilization, a great meteor fell, bringing long-dead souls to Solaris, souls that had been sustained by the life-force of one lone man, Ineal.
At the moment of impact, these souls scattered across Solaris, giving inhuman abilities to mortals while scarring their bodies and corrupting their lives.
Samuel was one such man, a man of faith who thought to use his powers to worship his God: he watched his followers, and his planet, die. Seas turned to lava and the skies darkened. And as Samuel’s heart grew weary and angry, he used his powers to manipulate the world to serve him alone.
Samuel became god of a planet whose only life was the symbiotic life so like his own.
Centuries later, he discovered others, threats that had not been on this planet before. A winged woman; a cyborg; a future-seer and a child. A great vengeance burned a comradery between them.
They were souls that could overthrow him. Souls that he would need to destroy.

My review of NovaForge

If you are looking for a highly captivating read, you may stop here and try out NovaForge by Scott Toney. It’s Book 1 of the Nova Trilogy, set in the distant future on Solaris, a planet that suffers a fall of a meteor that brings dead souls with it and scatters them all over the planet to scar people’s bodies and enslave their minds.
And there’s one man, Samuel, who has the power to manipulate the souls. Julieth, Riad, Ivanus, and Bayne are the only ones who can stop Samuel.
I was very impressed by the novel on many levels. First, the world-building. Scott Toney has done a great job inventing a new world with creatures you’ve never read about. The author paints vivid pictures of the world where the story takes place and of the monsters this world is teeming with. Well done!
Second, the pace of the novel. You’ll never get bored reading NovaForge. From the opening scene you get right into the action that’s going to make your heart thump wildly. There are parts where the main characters are given a break from action, and these parts give us a chance to get to know the characters better.
NovaForge is a well-structured, captivating novel with twists and turns. It has a great ending that made me want for more. I look forward to reading Book 2 of the series.
